Helping an entrepreneur kick start his gaming company by telling his authentic story
While Jason Santa Maria had a long successful track record in sales at his 9-5, his true passion since he was a kid was making games for him and his sister to play together.
Once Jason tapped me to create his video, I started by reviewing dozens of successful Kickstarter videos, spoke with several people who launched campaigns on Kickstarter, both successful and not, and analyzed the fears, hopes, and dreams of his target market.
Like many other passionate entrepreneurs, Jason decided to develop one of his ideas into an actual product with the help of Kickstarter.
Our strategy,
was to communicate authentically so that people would want to support this founder, while also showing that the game is actually fun, kids love to play it, and “Clever” delivers a valuable learning experience at the same time.
The Result
With a successful run on Kickstarter,
the video helped to almost double the funding goal, landing at 191%.
My favorite part of this project
was watching Jason’s LinkedIn profile change from Sales Rep at his former employer to Owner / Chief Creative Officer at his newly founded IN8 Games, seeing his final product available for purchase online, and used in schools and homes across the world
